Andrea & Ed’s Akaroa Wedding
When you go to the bank to speak to your new business bank manager, you really don’t expect to walk out with a wedding job! Of course it had to be run past the other half first but he trusted her judgement implicitly so a coffee date later, a few more details discussed and I was looking forward to my first wedding in the gorgeous seaside town of Akaroa!
Andrea and Ed’s Akaroa wedding day dawned a beautiful blue sky day with the sea breeze gently blowing, keeping temperatures summery without the swelter and everyone relaxed and smiling. Their surprise-filled ceremony was held on the rolling lawn of Vernon Lodge, with a glimpse of the distant hills and nearby sparkling harbour as their backdrop.
It was a day that Andrea’s vivaciousness and Ed’s quietly confident smile rubbed off on everyone present and filled it to the brim with laughter, hugs, kisses and love. Two fabulous families and their friends brought together through the commitment of two wonderful people truly is the power of love.
And the power on this day brought about the fact that there really is no greater compliment for a wedding photographer than when the groom (who does not particularly enjoy having his photo taken) relaxes, lets his guard down and smiles the most true smile straight down my lens that hits me with such force all I can do is fizz…and maybe do a little tap dance behind the camera! And even though this was your special day, you just 100% without doubt, made mine.
Because after all it’s the simple things in life that fill us up and feed our souls, if we let them.
“Nadine, you are the most amazing photographer and I would absolutely recommend you to anyone wanting a professional, fun and fabulous person to share in their wedding day! You did such a beautiful job of capturing our special day in Akaroa! You made us ridiculously un-photogenic people so comfortable and had our wedding party in stitches!!! Thank you gorgeous lady for the amazing memories! We will cherish the photos forever!”
