Climbing Nationals in Wanaka.

What an action-packed day on Saturday at Basecamp in Wanaka with Round 1 of the Climbing NZ National Cup… and plenty more happening today! A new experience for Nadine dealing with a massive height differential between her and the moving subject as well as the inevitable climber’s chalk filling the air… all good challenging stuff! Good luck to those climbers competing today and congratulations to all those who climbed yesterday, well done!

There are literally hundreds of images to edit but by the middle of this week Nadine will have a web gallery up for you to view. Fabulous Food – Rippon Hall – Wanaka

Thanks to Andrew and Sarah for inviting Nadine to be a “fly-on-the-wall” so-to-speak (!) in the kitchen at Rippon Hall last Saturday for the Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration Lunch. Andrew and his team from Relishes Cafe, in association with Rippon Vineyard & Winery, prepared and presented mouth-watering dishes matched and accompanied by selected Central Otago wines. All with stunning views of Ruby Island, Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountains… heaven!

Hors d'oeuvres preparation - Sweet garlic and goat cheese panna cotta, kalamata olive and sundried tomato tapenade crostini... mouth-watering!

Andrew hard at work preparing the Burn Cottage Pinot Noir Mayonnaise for the second course... do you think he loves what he does??!

First course: Shredded duck confit and baby spinach salad dressed with toasted hazelnut vinaigrette with Mt. Peel blue cheese and honeysuckle gel, balsalmic glaze and herb oil.

Part way through preparing Charcoal Gully Pinot marinated wild venison burger on thyme brioche with Burn Cottage Pinot Noir mayonnaise and black cherry relish with kumara, mushroom and garlic croquettes and pickled walnut puree.

The finished dish... replicated!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Nadine is looking forward to spending some quality time with her family and enjoying all that the outdoors have to offer down here in the Southern Hemisphere at this time of year! And to keep Nadine’s infatuation with the colour red alive for the festive season, some beautiful, mouth-watering Central Otago cherries to keep things merry… and red!! And as Angus says… “Have a good one!”

Lake Wanaka Skydive!

Wow! What a beautiful day in Wanaka… some people thought it was so beautiful that it deserved some freefall! Congratulations to Deb on her first (and maybe last?!) skydive with Skydive Lake Wanaka. You’ve got guts Deb… I don’t think Nadine would jump out of a perfectly good aircraft at 15,000 feet! Here’s a few pics as proof… enjoy!

What a fabulous show! Well done to all the dancers and teachers of Dance Wanaka for putting on such an entertaining dance showcase, fantastic! From a high school scene in small town Wanaka, to the streets of New York, attending Fame Perfoming Arts School and then winding up in the big time of Broadway. The lighting, the props, the acting and the smiles… all just made it visually scrumpicious! Here’s a few images Nadine managed to capture at dress rehearsal, enjoy!

What a beautiful day for a wedding in Wanaka… but then any day is a beautiful one in paradise! Made-to-order weather for Tim and Megan’s special day was just the beginning. The cutest button of a flowergirl (everyone else was cute too but Poppy just took the cake!), not a nervous moment in sight and plenty of smiles… straight down the lens! Nadine thinks the helicopter flight up to Mount Roy was one that Tim and Megan will remember for a lifetime!

Tim and Megan, here’s just a snippet with many more images to come very soon! Thank you for asking Nadine to capture your wedding day memories…she had a ball!
